Note: Data between 50.125 degrees N/S and 59.875 degrees N/S is considered highly unreliable so precipitation values are encoded in such a way that these values are always negative. It is not recommended that these values be used, however if neceessary they can be decoded using the formula p = -v-0.01, where p is the decoded value and v is the negative precipitation value from the dataset. Note that missing values cannot be decoded.
